London is the capital and the largest city of the United Kingdom. London is a city of contrasts. It is full of crazy  novelties, and yet age-long ceremonies give it its peculiar English character which makes it different from all continental capitals

City of Westminster is a inner borough of London. It lies on the north bank of the River Thames at the heart of London’s West End. It includes many historic landmarks and tourist attractions: the Palace of Westminster (the Houses of Parliament) , Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and Westminster Cathedral

Westminster Palace also called “The houses of Parliament”  is the seat of the Government

The English Parliament is a very old institution; it is the oldest in the world

England’s first constitutional document, the Magna Charta, was signed by King John Lackland in the 1215

For the English democracy is almost an attitude of mind informing  even their everyday life. Democracy means being tolerant and respecting other people’s opinions and feelings

Democracy means treating all men as equals. In England you would say “you” to the Prime Minister or even to her Majesty the Queen, as well as to the man in the street.
Democracy,  of course,  means having the right to elect one’s own rappresentatives in Parliament
